Brianna was diagnose with ALM Leukemia when she was 11 months old, this is something a parent never wants to hear, "you're daughter has Cancer", I remember crying so loud, when I heard those words on the phone, when a nurse called me to give me the results of Brianna's lymph node biopsy. "CANCER", the only thing that came to my head was "she's going to die", I don't know how long I cryed, when I saw my baby Brianna's little face, looking at me with a scared looked on her little face, I promise myself that she wasn't going to see me cry again, and I keeped my promise.
Next, me and my husband were sitting in a room with Doctors talking to us about the type if cancer Brianna had AML, and the treatment she needed, Chemotherapy, she was admittend in Children's Mercy Hospital, and started her first round of Chemo, we saw the first reaction her hair started to fall off, fevers, diarreah, nausea, mouthsores. How can you explain to an 11 month girl, what's happening to her.
She relapsed, 7 rounds of Chemotherapy and the cancer wouldn't go away, next step Full body Radiation, she relapsed after that too.
The only thing next to do was a Bone Marrow Transplant, Me, my husband and my other two doughters were tested to see who was a good match for her, Brisa my oldest daughter (8 yrs.old) was the perfect match.
November 2008 was the transplant date, everything seem to be going good until 6 moths later she relapsed again, her leukemia was very agressive and there wasn't anything left to do.
